What’s up this week?
This week we are continuing our work with numbers. Looking at putting numbers in order. We will also add, subtract double digit numbers. Students will read clocks, and understand coin values.
In reading this week we are continuing reading Lightning Thief. We are focusing on Greek Mythology as if it were present day. Students are learning about how people understood the world around them before present day science.
In Writing students will begin a piece on if they caught a leprechaun. Students will state their three wishes. Please make sure your students are writing in their weekly journals. East provided our topic for this week.
In Social Studies, students will work on African American research! Students will learn about the history of America. Students will learn about the middle passage, slavery, segregation, as well as famous Americans who have change our lives.
This week we are honoring: Jasper. Jasper is a great kid. He loves being a helper in our class- we could not imagine our class without him!
Art Auction!
It’s not too late to donate your great art to our auction! Have your kiddoes paint, draw, sculpt or create something for our auction!!! Deadline- February 17th.
In science this week we are focusing our balance and motion! We will build roller coasters! Students will learn the importance of gravity, potential energy, and kinetic energy. Believe it or not, your kids know the difference, and the terminology!
Valentine’s party
